Zinc Plating per ASTM B-633. Zinc plating is a soft, ductile, decorative, corrosion-resistant finish. It is used mainly for fasteners, electronic enclosers, and fabricated pieces where a certain budget must be met. Zinc plating can be done either racked or barreled.
Electroless Nickel, Mil-C-26074, Medium to High Phosporous. Electroless nickel is a hard, bright surface that can be extremely corrosion resistant. Electroless nickel is unique in that it provides a uniform deposit over the entire piece.
Sulfuric Anodizing, Mil-A-8625, Type II, Type III, Clear, Black, and Blue. Anodizing is an electrochemical process whereby the surface is changed from aluminum to aluminum oxide. This process enhances hardness and allows the aluminum to accept various dyes.
Passivate, QQ-P-35C, Type II, Type III, Type IV. Passivate removes free iron from the surface of stainless steel via immersion in a chemical bath, and also provides a tightly adhering oxide film to prevent corrosion.
Chemical Film, Mil-C-13924, Iridite, Alodine, Chromate Conversion. ChemFilm is a coating applied to aluminum via immersion in a chemical bath. It provides good corrosion resistance and can be used effectively as a paint base and as a dielectric.
